Sandra R. Ball

January 23, 1950 — March 1, 2017

Sandra Ring Ball of Austell, GA, daughter of Sanford and Frances Ring, graced the world with her presence on January 23, 1950. She was everything a Southern woman is meant to be. She had a backbone of steel, a quick wit, good manners, loved sweet tea, and had the ability to charm everyone around her. She was very talented in needle arts, especially cross stitch, loved early American History, and read thousands of books over the course of her 67 years. Sandra passed away very quickly, and -in true Sandra fashion- dramatically on March 1, 2017.

Her proudest accomplishments were her daughters, Marilee Lofton, 37, and Ashley Burgess (her favorite), 35, and her granddaughters, Lila, 13, Chloe, 10, Emily, 10, and Eva, 8. They were her world and she bragged about each one of them to anyone who would listen.

Sandra was married to her soulmate, Charlie Ball, for forty-three years. She loved him fiercely and hated his whistling. She bore his terrible puns with grace (most of the time) and clung to his kindness and strength.

She leaves behind a massive void and so many people who loved her.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters and their husbands whom she loved like sons, Bo Lofton and Chris Burgess and four granddaughters (Austell, GA), her nieces, Jessica Gilbert (Dacula, GA), Angela Katona (Granville, OH), Michele Goodus (St. Petersburg, FL), and Jennifer Goodus (Chesterfield, MA), as well as, her beloved father-in-law, Charles A. Ball (Ringgold, GA), and her sisters-in-law, Janie Goodus and her husband, Rich (Sun City Center, FL) and Jan Ball (Ringgold, GA), and her precious stitching group.

She is also survived by her beloved chihuahuas, Mickey, Lucy, and Patty (Austell, GA), whom she loved more than her children.

Sandra is to be cremated and there will be no formal service, per her request. There will be an informal celebration of her life on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Burgess Home. All are welcome to stop by and share a memory or two to pay respects to an incomparable woman who touched many lives.
