Robert C. "Bobby" McTyre

Robert C. “Bobby” McTyre passed away at his home on Saturday, April 23, 2016 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease for over 16 years. He was born in Dallas, GA, and lived most of his life in Powder Springs. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11am in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Steven Bell and Chaplain Kevin Mooney officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Memorial Park in Hiram.

Bobby loved the Lord, life and his family. He was a big fan of John Wayne and Westerns, Guns, Old Cars and Trucks, and Oldie Goldies Music from the 50’s to the 90’s. He also enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and especially working on and developing their land and cottage at Silver Creek, GA. He and Linda had planned to build their home and retire to sit, rest, and watch ducks on the lake, deer and wildlife pass by.

Bobby’s working years began at Coats & Clark Mill in Clarkdale, and General Electric. He worked in printing at Superior Type, was a Vending Supervisor at Old Fashion Foods and was Owner Operator of McTyre Trucking and McTyre Diesel Service. He was Co-Owner of Armchair Video and retired as Diesel Mechanic at McTyre Grading & Pipe, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Coleman “H.C.” McTyre, mother, IV McTyre, precious nephew Alan McTyre and recent passing of one of his dearest friends, Tommy Fountain.

He is survived by his loving devoted wife and best friend, Linda, of 24 years; Daughters, Robin (Steve) Wilkins, Powder Springs, GA and Kellie McTyre of Savannah, GA; Stepdaughter, Rita (Tim) Dixon, Dallas, GA; Stepson, Wesley (Michelle) Dobson, Breman, GA; Grandchildren, Kaleb Wilkins, Stevie Wilkins, Ethan (Niamh) Wilkins, and Shepard Coleman Haverly; Step Grandchildren, Aaron Dixon, Allison Dixon, Adam Dixon, Abby Dobson, Molly Dobson, and One precious Great Granddaughter, Sawyer Elizabeth.
