James Hugh Mitchell Jr.

On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, James Hugh Mitchell Jr. from Marietta, GA was called home after losing his battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held to honor him in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, August 28th at 2:00.

James, (known as Jim or Bubba by those closest to him) was born August 27th, 1941. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in San Diego, CA. He retired from Lockheed Martin in Marietta GA after 34 years of service. Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer since the age of 15 and those closest to him knew that his life revolved around golf and his loved ones. He was so very proud of his wife, children, and grandchildren and will be missed so deeply by them all.

Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Page Mitchell, his daughters, Terrie Smith and Tammy Sibley; his grandchildren: Matt Smith, Kayla Smith, and Mitchell Vines; his son in laws: Tim Smith and Clarence Sibley; his sisters: Cathy Collins and Connie Hicks, and several nieces and nephews.
