Jack McPherson

Albert C. “Jack” McPherson, age 77, of Centre, AL (formerly of Marietta, GA) passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Tuesday, October 10th at New Hope Baptist Church in Acworth. A Graveside Service will be held 2pm Saturday, October 14th at Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta with military honors.
Born in Acworth, Mr. McPherson lived in Cobb County for most of his life before moving to Centre, AL 8 years ago. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and worked as an auto mechanic with Abney Automotive. He attended Eastwood Baptist Church for many years, and enjoyed playing cards with his family on Friday nights.
Mr. McPherson was the oldest of 14 children, and is survived by his wife, Mary Jewell McPherson, Centre, AL; son, Timothy McPherson, Kennesaw, GA; 5 step children, Kenny Giles, Dallas, GA, Sheila Norton, Acworth, GA, Lisa Haston, Donna Tucker and Kim Hubbard; 8 siblings, Sarah Ellen Butterworth, Rev. Gerald McPherson, Linda Stanton, Ruth Minter, Nelda Adams, Dr. Rex McPherson, Kathy Motti and Donna Strickland; granddaughter, Tabitha McPherson; step grandchildren, Melissa Giles, Megan Giles, Bryan James and Carla James.
