Elisabeth Victoria McLendon, age 54, of Powder Springs, GA passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
A native of Sandy Springs, Ms. McLendon moved to Powder Springs 5 years ago. As a graduate of Ridgeview High School in Sandy Springs, she excelled as an artist, winning Governor’s honors, and was a talented athlete, competing on a national level in the shot put and discus events. She was nationally ranked and won a state championship in high school in the discus and shot put before attending the University of Florida on a track scholarship, and later the University of Georgia. After college, she worked for Hinton’s Apothecary in Chamblee for over 10 years. She then worked in the emergency medical field, and was a 911 Supervisor with Fulton County. Her passion was being an artist, drawing trees, people and dogs.
