Edith Crihfield Lancaster

Edith Crihfield Lancaster, 89, of Powder Springs, passed away Wed., Nov. 2 at Tranquility Hospice at WellStar-Cobb after a brief illness. She moved from Memphis, Tenn. in 2002 after the death of her husband of 56 years, Bill Lancaster. Edith was immediately welcomed and became an active part of First Baptist Church - Powder Springs. She loved the Joy Seekers Sunday School class, Happy Hearts senior adult ministry, her Wednesday Bible study and Thursday night Hobo suppers. She also enjoyed her friends and neighbors and the activities at Silver Springs community.

Most of all, Edith loved spending time with her family, which included her daughters Kaye Burkett of Powder Springs and Louise Keim of Fairfield, Conn. Her grandchildren, Trisha Tanner, Molly Sellers and Morgan Keim and her great-grandchildren Trey and Ella Reese Tanner were her greatest joy. Also surviving her are her three sisters, Elizabeth Mosley, Carolyn Ammons and Dorothy Cullipher of Ripley, Tenn.; nine nieces and nephews; and her sons-in-law Cliff Burkett and Tom Keim.

We will all miss Edith's vibrant, outgoing personality; her service to others; her ready smile and her love of Christ. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 4 from 5 to 7 pm. In the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church - Powder Springs. A Celebration Service of her life will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, also at the church. West Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
