Charles Barton Humphrey

Charles Barton Humphrey, 88, of Marietta passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the National Cemetery at Leavenworth, Kansas with Military Honors. Mr. Humphrey recently moved to the Marietta area from Blairsville where he resided for the previous 10 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was retired from the Veteran's Administration where he was employed as an Auditor with the Office of the Inspector General. Mr. Humphrey was a veteran of the United States Air Force with service in the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne McLaurin Humphrey and his wife, Shirley Rose Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey is survived by his children, Harvey Michael (son) and Diane Humphrey of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Donald Jefferson (son) and Belinda Humphrey of Canton, Georgia, and Kathryn (daughter) and Guy Nelson of Marietta; and, Brother, Bill McBride; Sisters, Florence Needham and Phyllis Dix; and two grandchildren, Joshua Humphrey and Logan Nelson.
