Berma Beatrice Brumbelow

November 17, 1916 — December 5, 2016

Beatrice Brumbelow, age 100

On December 5, the angels came to escort our beloved, Beatrice “Maw-Maw” to her new home. Beatrice was born November 17, 1916 in Polk County, the daughter of the late Frank and Flora Ingram. After marrying the love of her life, Herman Brumbelow Sr. “Paw-Paw”, they moved to Powder Springs where they raised their family. Beatrice was a proud, devoted and loving wife and mother. She made her family her top priority. Maw-Maw not only loved them unconditionally, but dedicated to them her entire life. She loved Southern Gospel music and the Red Book hymns. She played the piano (a lot like Eva Mae LeFevre) and she and her daughters sang for a decade as the Brumbelow Trio at church and they travelled around the state doing revivals, and church singings with “dinner on the ground.” Later in life, Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw travelled with the Singing Skylarks. They were so encouraging and supportive and the singers just loved and adored them. Beatrice dedicated her life to God, Family, Church and Neighbors. She was a founder and charter member of Macland Baptist Church for fifty years. Beatrice was the epitome of what all would call a perfect homemaker, great cook, loving mother, dear friend and good neighbor. She will be truly missed. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Herman Brumbelow, Sr.; son, Thomas Brumbelow Jr.; and son in law, Virgil Gaddis. She is survived by her daughter, Myrlis Brumbelow Fix and husband, John “Bill” Fix of Powder Springs, GA.; daughter, Arlene Gaddis of Powder Springs, GA.; son, David Brumbelow and wife, Lana Brumbelow of Powder Springs, GA.; daughter in law, Linda Dunnick and her husband, Richard Dunnick; Five grandchildren, Melinda Paris, Tommy Westbrook, Tony Brumbelow, Todd Brumbelow and Tina Carter; 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00p.m. at Macland Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Foster and Rev. Don Rackley officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening, December 9, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory. Online guest book available at www.westcobbfuneralhome.com .
