Arthur LeBlanc Jr.

March 19, 1922 — January 25, 2018

Arthur (Art) J. LeBlanc, Jr. age 95, was born on March 19, 1922 to Arthur and Rose (Voronyak) LeBlanc in Superior, WI. At the age of one, Art's mother passed away and his maternal grandparents, Mikaly and Mary Voronyak, in Upsala, MN, raised him. Art graduated from Holding Fort High School in 1939, afterward joining the US Navy, where he attended pre flight training in Athens, GA at the University of Georgia. Upon completion, he continued his training in Seattle, Washington and served as a US Navy fighter pilot in WWII. After the war, Art started his civilian career with General Dynamics in San Diego, CA. He later joined Pan American Airlines in Avionics and was soon loaned to Trans World Airlines, where he was commissioned to set up the avionics department in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for SDI.

Art met his wife of 56 years, Mary Baghdassarian, in Saudi Arabia and the two were married in Alexandria Egypt in 1956. In 1969, he moved his family to Los Angeles, CA, where he later retired from TWA after 30 years of service. In the year 2000, Art and Mary moved to Georgia to be closer to his son and family.

Art is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur J. LeBlanc, Sr. and Rose Voronyak, his wife Mary S. LeBlanc, sister Dorothy Viehauser Johnson, and brother in laws Bud Viehauser, Dewey Johnson, Robert Baghdassarian and Garbis Baghdassarian. He is survived by his son, Robert S. LeBlanc and his wife Michelle of Kennesaw, grandson Nathan LeBlanc and his three nieces and their spouses.

Art most enjoyed making people laugh. He loved his family and friends and had a particular fondness for hotdogs, tacos, casinos and fun times. A special thank you to all the loving caregivers at his assisted living home, the incredible people at Assured Hospice in Cartersville, Rhonda and the group at Visiting Angels in Powder Springs, and especially to Art's special family friends, the Meehling's. With friends and family extending around the world, Art is fondly remembered for his kind and gentle demeanor, the immense gratitude he lived with each day, his love of children and animals, and his appreciation of all God's creations. He will be greatly missed.

Private family services will be held.
