Our Services

Your Satisfaction Is Our Goal

An individual’s funeral or memorial service represents a unique opportunity to celebrate the life of a loved one; the memories you have, the values they projected, and the accomplishments they achieved. The service also serves an important part of the grieving process. There is no typical service. Each family has its own special needs, customs, and traditions. We are committed to helping you create a meaningful service which is the most appropriate for you. Our funeral directors and staff are dedicated to assist you in choosing the music, clothing, flowers, and any other essentials that are right for your needs. No matter what your situation or desire, we are here to help you - before, during and after the funeral service.

Itemized Goods and Services

All of our funeral goods and services are itemized in our General Price List. In compliance with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations, all funeral homes must price their services in a similar format and provide a copy of their General Price List to customers. This provides you an opportunity to select exactly the type of funeral or memorial ceremony you prefer, and to be more informed of their prices. West Cobb Funeral Home also offers custom service packages which can provide savings and convenience over itemized selection. Please consult our funeral directors and our General Price List for further information, and any questions that you may have

What To Bring

When you come to the arrangement conference, depending on what is applicable to your funeral requests, you will need to consider bringing clothing, veteran discharge documents, insurance policies, social security card and birth certificate of the deceased, jewelry, glasses, and a picture of your loved one.  We will stay in close contact with you during the entire process, without any pressure, to help you with anything that you need assistance with.

Burial Service Options

Several options are available for those who prefer a traditional burial service. A few of these options include a complete funeral service at the funeral home or place of worship with burial to follow; graveside memorial service of remembrance; and finally, immediate burial with no services. While these only cover the general types of burial services, your choices are not required to fit exactly into any particular category.

Cremation Service Options

Cremation is the process of reducing the body to bone fragments through the application of intense heat. This process usually takes approximately three hours and occurs in a special type of chamber or retort. The remaining fragments are then processed into a finer substance and placed in a temporary container. Several options are available for those who prefer cremation. A few of these options include a complete funeral service with cremation replacing burial; immediate cremation with a memorial service of remembrance; and finally, immediate cremation with no services. While these only cover the general types of cremation services, your choices are not required to fit exactly into any particular category. There are literally options within options available to provide a meaningful service of remembrance.
